Painting for a Cause

I recently donated my painting Blue Melody from my Visions of Color series to the non-profit A Window Between Worlds for their upcoming online original art auction and fundraiser gala ArtWorks for Healing. This special event brings together a diverse group of more than 50 inspiring professional artists who share AWBW’s commitment to provide art therapy to survivors of violence and trauma in a safe, supportive environment. It is also a celebration of AWBW’s 25th anniversary and the launching of the next 25 years of sharing art as a resource for healing and empowerment. I love finding ways of giving back to the community and I’m thrilled my art will help raise money for this very worthy cause.

Why I Support Art Therapy

I truly believe in the power of art to heal. And not just for artists, but for everyone. We all need a safe space where we can express our thoughts and emotions. Sometimes it’s easier to put your feelings on a canvas and let the colors and shapes explain what you can’t or aren’t ready to say in words. And much like an athlete, you get into a “zone” when creating that helps quiet the mind so you can focus without the distractions and stresses of your everyday life. That’s why I teach my abstract painting classes to people at any skill level and support organizations like AWBW.

About Clara Berta
Clara Berta is a passionate, award-winning, abstract artist of Hungarian heritage. Her dynamic, highly textural, abstract works have been exhibited in the United States and collected worldwide. Having earned over 10 awards between 2003-2016, she has also been recently honored with a 3rd Place award in an important exhibit “Made in California” at Brea Municipal Gallery.
